Too Much Concrete? Oak House by MUKA Arquitectura

Oak House, designed by MUKA Arquitectura north of Madrid, is built almost entirely in exposed concrete. The structure shows raw beams, heavy slabs, and visible supports, leaving little room for softness.

Large glass walls bring in the landscape, but the atmosphere inside remains cold and rigid.

The architects introduced oak carpentry and furniture as a counterbalance, yet the presence of wood is minimal compared to the dominance of concrete. The result is a home that feels more like an exercise in material expression than a comfortable dwelling. Still, it is an interesting project for those who love raw materials and the stark honesty of exposed construction.
