This Glass-Walled Tiny House Redefines Compact Living

by Stefan Gheorghe

This 538-square-foot (50 m²) house in the Netherlands is built almost entirely from glass, with both walls and ceiling designed to bring in light and frame the surrounding forest. The compact footprint, designed by GetAway Projects BV, is just 21 by 26 feet, spread across three levels: the main living area, a sunken bathroom, and two bedrooms above.

A curved Belvedere quartzite bar wraps around the living room’s built-in sofa, connecting directly to the kitchen. Wood cabinetry and stairs contrast with the glass envelope, while a metal shelf above the counter offers space for plants.

The exterior extends the living space with a 39-foot natural swimming pool, filtered through lava stones and aquatic plants.

The glass structure and the pool create a restrained but striking retreat that is compact in size yet expansive in atmosphere.

The bathroom combines black brick, wood finishes, and large-format tiles, while the upper bedrooms continue the warm look with thermally treated wood.
