Suspended Serenity: The Green Terrace House in Vilnius
Completed in 2025 by ArchLAB, the Green Terrace House is a masterclass in precision, proportion, and integration with its forested hillside site.
The design’s most striking gesture is the cantilever, projecting the main living volume over the driveway and resting on two angled concrete supports. This bold structural move not only shelters the entrance and carport but also gives the home a sense of lightness and suspension, despite its robust form.
The back of the house features a low pavilion opening to the garden, with a continuous deck for outdoor living. A circular roof opening above the patio frames the sky and lets light and rain reach the deck. Integrated lighting highlights the space at night.
Wrapped in white render, glass, and horizontal wood slats, the home balances crisp minimalism with warm, natural textures. Every line feels deliberate, every material serving both purpose and poetics—an elegant retreat where modernist clarity meets the calm of nature.
