Casa Idda Frames Nature with Contemporary Clarity in Sicily
Set among lemon and olive groves in Sicily’s UNESCO-listed Val di Noto, Casa Idda by Itinera Studio Associato is a minimalist residence that blends seamlessly into its surroundings.
The structure is based on modular 7.5-meter-square volumes, arranged to define the master suite, living area, and guest zone while opening toward the sea-facing landscape.
The outdoor spaces are essential to the project, with each volume extending into terraces that mirror the terrain’s natural slope. These outdoor rooms frame sweeping views of the Vendicari reserve and coastline, turning nature into a central design element. Schüco aluminum systems including ASE 67 PD, AWS 75 BS, AWS 65, and AWS 75 (fixed and hinged) allow for expansive glass openings that erase boundaries between inside and out. Supplied by Schüco Premium Partner Sicilcima, these systems enhance thermal and acoustic insulation while offering durability and slim-framed elegance.
Inside are sleek sliding doors by Rimadesio, pivot doors by ADL, and precise lighting from Davide Groppi define the atmosphere. Custom sanitary fixtures by Antonio Lupi add refinement, reinforcing the home’s commitment to contemporary comfort and craftsmanship.
