A Modern Dream House With Endless Bay Views

Lagoon View is a remodel and expansion of a 4753-sq ft home in Tiburon. The owners planned a move from the midwest and wanted a site with open views of San Francisco, the bay, and the ocean. The existing structure had many past alterations, so Swatt + Partners set out to unify the plan and create one clear architectural composition.

The landscape by Stefan Thuilot follows the hillside slope from the street down to the edge of the property. Materials include integrally colored cement plaster, anodized aluminum framing, stained cedar siding, and Windsor Limestone, built by Stroub Construction. The sequence moves from closed entry volumes to wide glass-lined rooms that open toward the bay.

The new design uses full-height glass, open rooms, and extended roof and deck planes to direct the interior toward the south and west. Solid stone and vertical support elements anchor the entry side, while cantilevered horizontal slabs frame the view side.

Inside, Leverone Design placed custom furniture and pieces from Coup d’Etat, Juin Ho, and Holly Hunt, giving space for the client’s notable art collection.

The kitchen centers on a long marble island, clean white cabinetry, and woven metal stools that give the space a crisp, modern structure opening toward the terrace.

The interiors use low, tailored furniture, soft textures, and warm neutrals that connect each room with the landscape beyond the glass walls.

The terrace completes the project with open bay views, a recessed fireplace, and seating that extends the living area toward the sunset line.
