Haim at The Rady Shell
October 10
Diving into the discography of Haim doesn’t only entail the dynamic chemistry of sisters Danielle, Este and Alana, it also means familiarizing yourself with the art of the three-part harmony. Their music’s endless summer sheen perfectly matches the trio’s LA roots, and their newest project I Quit—along with its lead single “Relationships”—encourages listeners to embrace independence. Though Haim’s records have a smoother pop sound, the crowd for their show this Friday (6:30 p.m.) at The Rady Shell can expect things to get loud and propulsive. Tickets are $80 for this concert, with an opening set from bedroom pop artist Dora Jar.

The Addams Family: The Musical at Patio Playhouse
October 10-26
Though The Addams Family first came into existence as a comic strip in the late 1930s, the franchise is experiencing a popular resurgence thanks to the breakout series Wednesday and a hit Broadway adaptation. Patio Playhouse’s production of The Addams Family: The Musical, opening this Friday at Kit Carson Amphitheatre, sees the macabre Addams clan fruitlessly attempt to be normal for a night as they host Wednesday’s boyfriend and his parents for dinner. Tickets are $28 for those ages 13-54, $23 for seniors (55+) and $18 for children ages 2-12.

Little Shop of Horrors at Point Loma Playhouse
October 10-26
In the monster comedy Little Shop of Horrors, set for a 13 show pop-up from Point Loma Playhouse starting Friday, the life of a downtrodden florist grows successful and stranger after he begins taking care of a murderous venus flytrap. What makes this musical an all-timer is its ‘60s inspired soundtrack, balanced with profound tracks like “Suddenly, Seymour,” absurd ballads such as “Dentist!” and an omnipresent Greek chorus of doo-wop singers. Tickets are $30 for Little Shop of Horrors; a portion of each purchase will go to the Sister League of San Diego.
3148 Fifth Avenue, Hillcrest
Pippin at Coronado Playhouse
October 10 – November 2
The newest production at the Coronado Playhouse is proof that even royalty can struggle to find satisfaction in their lives. Stephen Schwartz’s Pippin follows the path of its titular main character through spells with religion, politics and conquest (both in battle and the bedroom) as he aimlessly tries to find his purpose. Though this musical takes inspiration from historical figures, it plays out as an interactive fiction, becoming a show within a show where the fourth wall is purely optional. Adult tickets are $27 for Pippin, with showtimes happening Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sunday at 2 p.m. through Nov. 2.
1835 Strand Way, Coronado

Ressler will lead an informal talk Saturday at 4 p.m. before the exhibition’s opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. A Life In Photography will be on display for free Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment through Nov. 1.

Since then, he’s released a Netflix special (Baby J), popped up on shows like The Bear and worked to reshape the late night TV format on the zany and unpredictable Everybody’s in LA, along with its second season Everybody’s Live. Comedy fans can see Mulaney perform some new material Sunday (7 p.m.) at The Rady Shell when his Mister Whatever tour rolls into town. Tickets start at $98 for this performance.
